Hello! Recently, while having tea with friends at a café, we started discussing whether the Liberal Democratic Party could win the House of Councillors election if Shinjiro Koizumi became Prime Minister.
Everyone had their own opinions, which made for an interesting conversation.
Heated Debate Among Friends
One of my friends said, “Koizumi is young and has a good image, so I think he could gather a lot of votes.” It’s true that Koizumi has a refreshing presence and is often seen on TV, so he might bring a new wave of enthusiasm. However, another friend calmly pointed out, “But without solid policies, it might be tough,” and I nodded along, considering their perspective. Later, when the conversation shifted, another friend jokingly asked, “What kind of speech do you think Koizumi would give if he became Prime Minister?” I couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought. Imagining him saying, “Today, I bring you new ideas regarding politics!” made me laugh. I also remarked, “That sounds just like a comedy routine,” while I ended up munching on too many snacks. The sweets that day, especially the cheesecake, were absolutely delightful!
My Personal Thoughts
To be honest, I hope that if Shinjiro Koizumi becomes Prime Minister, the voices of the younger generation will be more reflected in politics. However, whether he can implement the truly necessary policies with his leadership remains uncertain. Elections are really nerve-wracking, and the tension leading up to the results is something else. I once went to support a candidate during an election, and I still remember the excitement from that day. Every time a campaign car passed by, I found myself cheering instinctively, feeling like part of a support team!
