Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about Takashi Tachibana. When it comes to opinions about his sense of justice, people tend to be divided. In the early days, many resonated with his determined approach to the NHK reception fee
issue. However, looking at his recent actions, it feels more like he is operating as a “political entertainer” rather than someone driven by a sense of justice.
The Sense of Justice Felt in Early Tachibana
When he first appeared, to be honest, he made a significant impression. He showed a strong understanding of the laws and systems regarding the NHK reception fee issue, and above all, there was a palpable enthusiasm of “for the people.” Personally, I also work part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, so I have a strong interest in the law. Listening to him made me feel that I should take some kind of action myself. But what about recently? Sometimes I get the impression he seems to enjoy disrupting elections. Of course, the political world is complicated, and he likely faces various pressures and influences. However, it seems that his actions are more focused on the interests of his party and the entertainment aspect rather than genuinely serving the public. This feels far from a true sense of justice.
A Bundle of Justice?
On the other hand, he does seem to recognize the talents of those around him. During the Hyogo Prefectural Governor election, I felt he truly exuded a sense of justice, and at least he seems to act based on his own beliefs. However, there is no denying that he appears to be wandering aimlessly lately. While there are signs of him reaching out to help the vulnerable, I sometimes wonder how much this actually benefits the public.
Finally, Let’s Hear Everyone’s Opinions
Ultimately, what is the state of Tachibana’s sense of justice? The opinion that there are moments of feeling justice every three years made me chuckle a bit. I also find myself thinking at times, “What is this person really thinking?” If he is genuinely active with strong beliefs, I wish he would express those beliefs more clearly.
