Reader’s Question:
What do you think about the rumors that the child rumored to be a victim in Nakai-san’s incident is being harassed on Instagram by Nakai fans? I believe it’s problematic that fans are making assumptions and slandering her Instagram, especially when no magazine or TV report has used her real name. There’s an excuse that “if she’s not the
person, she should say so,” but regardless of who it is, I think it’s wrong to harass anyone on social media.
The Nakai Incident and Social Media Issues
Recently, Nakai-san’s incident has become a hot topic. Hearing that the Instagram of the child rumored to be a victim is being attacked made my heart ache a bit. While social media is incredibly convenient, it also has its frightening aspects when such troubles arise. I occasionally use social media myself, but when I see excessively harsh comments flying around, it darkens my spirits. Among Nakai-san’s fans, there may be some who, in their eagerness to defend him, end up attacking unrelated individuals.
Fan Behavior and Its Impact
Fan behavior can sometimes become blind. Especially when it comes to famous people, their enthusiasm can go overboard. It’s truly sad that unrelated individuals get hurt due to slander from such fans. While there are opinions like “if she’s not the person, she should say so,” it’s difficult to discern who is telling the truth on social media. I’ve seen friends receive slander on social media before. During those times, I thought, “Why would they do such a thing?” and worried about my friend’s mental state. Young people are particularly sensitive, so it’s concerning whether they might end up traumatized.
Facing My Own Opinions
I’m also contemplating how to respond to situations like this. I believe more people need to rethink how they use social media. Especially when it comes to slander and aggressive comments, there’s no justification for them. Some of Nakai-san’s fans might be acting out of misunderstanding, but I think it’s crucial to calmly reassess the situation. In a world where information is convoluted, discerning what is true is difficult, but at the very least, we should strive to avoid hurting others.
