Question from a Reader:
What policies do supporters of Shinji Ishimaru agree with?
Considering the Reasons for Supporting Shinji Ishimaru
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding Shinji Ishimaru. As I observe the various opinions of his supporters, it makes me reflect. In particular, I found the criticism regarding the lack of specificity in his policies quite valid. Indeed,
his character and impact may play a significant role in his support.
Support Base Focused on Character
Many of Ishimaru’s supporters seem to appreciate his rational problem-solving abilities and his perspective from the common people’s viewpoint. There is no doubt that the expectations for change in politics and dissatisfaction with the current political landscape contribute to his support. I, too, believe that new energy is needed in the political arena. Especially amid the dominance of the old guard, I understand the hope that a new type of leader like him can emerge. However, I remain somewhat skeptical about whether his support is genuinely based on policies. While many people feel that there are issues with current politics, they may find themselves left with no concrete options and are choosing him by process of elimination. The saying “bitter medicine is the best” comes to mind, but the real question remains whether his approach will be effective, and we can only wait to see how things unfold.
Between Hope and Anxiety
His looks and background are said to contribute to the trust in him as a leader, but I believe politics cannot stand on those alone. Policies and a clear vision are essential. As someone studying psychology at university, I feel that a solid foundation is necessary to gain support. While I understand the feelings of those who hope he can bring about change, the shock of disappointment when those hopes are dashed could be significant. In my part-time job at a judicial scrivener’s office, I witness firsthand how laws and policies impact people’s lives. Of course, the qualities and abilities of a politician are important, but without the power to implement those qualities, they are meaningless. The upcoming Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election will be a crucial test for him, and I feel a bit anxious about what the outcome might be.
What Are Your Thoughts?
Now that I’ve shared my thoughts, I wonder what you, the readers, think. I would love to hear your opinions about Ishimaru, what you hope for, and any concerns you may have. I’m looking forward to hearing the perspectives of everyone interested in politics. It would be great if we could exchange various opinions and think toward a better future together.
