Reader’s Question:
Do you like the new Pretty Cure series? I feel like it has a different approach compared to previous ones, and it seems like the characters are just doing Pretty Cure on the side while focusing on being idols. Because of that, I stopped watching it halfway through.
My Thoughts
on the New Pretty Cure Series
Oh man, I have to say, I totally get where you’re coming from with the new Pretty Cure series. It feels like they’re leaning heavily into the idol aspect this time around, doesn’t it? I mean, it’s almost like the whole “Pretty Cure” fighting crime thing is just a side gig while they’re busy chasing their dream of being pop stars. I can see why that might turn some fans off. But here’s the thing — I actually found some charm in it! Sure, it’s a different approach, but I think there’s something fun about mixing the world of magical girls with the glitz of idol culture. I mean, who doesn’t love a little singing and dancing between battles? I remember one episode where they had a mini concert right in the middle of a fight, and I couldn’t help but chuckle. It was so over-the-top ridiculous, but that’s what makes it entertaining! Reading your comment about how the characters are getting popular just because of their “leaked” performances made me laugh. It’s such a quirky plot twist that you can’t help but roll your eyes and smile at the same time. And yes, the whole managing aspect sounds like a typical idol manager’s job, doesn’t it? I can just picture them juggling schedules while trying to save the world! You mentioned that you found last year’s series, “Wanpuri,” to be divine, and I totally respect that! Everyone has their favorites, right? What I find fascinating is how each series brings something unique to the table. For me, I think the heroism of Ut-chan stepping up and blending her idol life with her role as a Pretty Cure really struck a chord. It’s like she’s a modern-day hero who still remembers to connect with her fans while saving the day. I also have to confess, I’ve been known to indulge a bit too much during my binge-watching sessions. Snacks? Oh, you better believe I’ve polished off an entire bag of chips while trying to keep up with the latest episodes. I guess I’m just a sucker for both the drama and the deliciousness of snacking! So, what about you? Have you had any memorable moments while watching anime or shows that made you laugh or think? I’d love to hear your experiences or tips on what to check out next.
