Question from a reader:
Is Shigeru Ishiba considered one of the excellent Prime Ministers in history?
Reflecting on Shigeru Ishiba’s Evaluation
Recently, I’ve been hearing discussions about Shigeru Ishiba. Some people praise him as “excellent,” while others criticize him, saying he hasn’t done anything yet, which made me think a bit. I don’t know Ishiba-san personally, but observing his stance and
statements as a politician, I believe it’s crucial how he realizes his past policies and promises. Especially since whether the policies he proposes are actually implemented is a significant concern for us voters.
Promises and Reality
It’s undeniable that keeping promises is a vital responsibility for politicians. After all, we head to the polls with expectations like, “If this promise is realized…” However, reality isn’t that simple, as there are various circumstances and backgrounds involved. For instance, don’t we sometimes think, “I’m going to diet this month!” only to overindulge at a friend’s gathering? (laughs) Recently, I’ve been trying to maintain a healthy diet for my children, but I still find myself reaching for snacks. These small “promise violations” might make me feel that similar things can happen in the political world.
Expectations for the Future
I’m very curious about how Ishiba-san will advance politics in the future. Whether the policies he proposes will be realized, especially regarding territorial issues and international relations, greatly impacts our daily lives. If he truly follows that path, I believe he has the potential to become a Prime Minister who leaves a mark in history. However, it may still be too early to determine his evaluation. I think it’s essential for us to adjust our assessments based on his future actions and results. What do you all think? Please share your opinions about Shigeru Ishiba or any anecdotes about other politicians in the comments! I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
