Discussion on Comparing Members of SixTONES and SMAP

Recently, I heard comparisons of SixTONES to SMAP, and it really excited me. As someone who
enjoys comedy, I find it fun to think about their personalities and character traits. SMAP has been an idol I watched since childhood, so comparing them with the younger generation of SixTONES, who were influenced by them, is quite interesting.

Overlaying Member Personalities

For example, I completely agree with the opinion that Jesse resembles Takuya Kimura! Jesse is indeed the face of the group and has a certain charisma. When he’s on stage, his presence is remarkable, just like Kimura’s. His fashion sense is also on point, making the entire group feel more polished just by having him around. Kyomoto Taiga being compared to Goro Inagaki seems to stem from his refined looks and aura. There’s something about him that makes you think, “Wow, he’s so stylish,” when you see him. Matsumura Hokuto being similar to Masaki Mori likely comes from his great physique. His tall and slender build certainly brings Mori to mind. His dancing is sharp and enjoyable to watch. Tanaka Juri being likened to Masahiro Nakai could be due to his role as an MC and his ability to unify the group. His conversational skills and ability to read the room definitely resonate with Nakai. Morimoto Shintaro resembling Shingo Katori likely comes from his younger brother vibe and solid build. Shintaro’s brightness truly brings energy to those watching him. Lastly, Takuchi Yugo being compared to Tsuyoshi Kusanagi seems to relate to their shared role as the group’s jokester. His sense of humor fosters a friendly atmosphere within the group, and watching him brings a smile to my face.

Similarities and Differences

The commonality between SixTONES and SMAP is that both groups consist of “distinctive members.” Each member showcases their unique character, providing enjoyment to their fans. However, while SMAP has a long history with each member displaying diverse talents, SixTONES is still in a growth phase, so there’s much anticipation for their future endeavors. As I watch SixTONES performances while putting my child to sleep, I often find myself thinking, “These kids are amazing,” and I can’t help but smile at the moments they create. After all, laughter is the best form of healing. What do you think? If you have different perspectives on comparing the members of SixTONES and SMAP, please share them in the comments.
