a trip to Okinawa, particularly a 2-night, 3-day excursion as I am in mid-July, here are some tips and suggestions to help you make the most of your visit.
Travel Plans
My journey begins with arriving at the airport around noon, where I will be picking up a rental car from Nippon Rent-A-Car. Renting a car is an excellent choice in Okinawa, as it gives you the flexibility to explore the island at your own pace. The roads are well-maintained, and driving allows you to access some of the more remote beaches and attractions that might be difficult to reach via public transport. After collecting my car, I plan to head straight to my accommodation for the next two nights: Okinawa Kariyushi Beach Resort Ocean Spa. This resort is known for its beautiful beachfront location and luxurious amenities, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploration.

In the afternoon, explore the American Village, where you can enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment. Wrap up the day with some local cuisine in the village. Option 2: Southern Exploration First – Day 1: Arrive at the airport, pick up the rental car, and drive south to explore the historical sites and beautiful beaches of the southern part of Okinawa. Visit places like Shurijo Castle and the Peace Memorial Park. In the evening, head to American Village for dinner and shopping. – Day 2: Dedicate the morning to relaxing at the beach near the resort. In the afternoon, make your way to Churaumi for an unforgettable experience with marine life. Both options have their merits, but the choice ultimately depends on my preferences. If I want to dive straight into the highlights, visiting Churaumi first may be the best option. However, if I want to ease into the trip and enjoy the historical richness of Okinawa, exploring the south on the first day might be more enjoyable.
