Question from a reader:
Even after graduating from Keio, I worry that I might end up having my life ruined by a man, just like Watanabe Nagisa. Doesn’t that make graduation meaningless? What do you think?
The Meaning of Graduation and Life Choices
When friends ask such questions, it really makes you reflect on your own situation, doesn’t it? Graduating from
Keio doesn’t guarantee a smooth life; there are all kinds of ups and downs, especially in love and relationships, where unexpected events can catch you off guard. I completely understand the anxiety of potentially having your life derailed by a man, just like Watanabe Nagisa experienced. During my university years, I often brainstormed comedy skits with friends. Back then, we would joke around in cafes with coffee in hand, saying things like, “How about this idea?” Sometimes we even overindulged in snacks, leading to stomachaches. Those fun memories inspire me to hold hope for life after graduation.
Life Choices Are Up to You
I believe graduation is just the starting point, and it’s up to us to choose what comes next in our lives. Of course, we are often influenced by others, but ultimately, our choices matter the most. I find joy in being a father and fulfilling that role, but I also want to make sure I cherish my own life within that framework. Feeling anxious is something everyone experiences, and I think it’s important to discuss those feelings with friends and take time to reflect on ourselves. While playing with my children, I find meaning in life through our shared laughter and even our mistakes.
