Question from a Reader:
I’ve heard that if Mizuhara Ippei gets out of the piggy bank, he will have to return 2.5 billion yen to Otani Shohei. I think it’s impossible to pay back such a large amount of money. Is there a way to use the statute of limitations so he doesn’t have to pay it back?
The Story of
Mizuhara Ippei and Otani Shohei
Hello! Today, I want to share an interesting story. Recently, a friend told me, “If Mizuhara Ippei gets out of the piggy bank, he has to pay back 2.5 billion yen to Otani Shohei!” I mean, 2.5 billion yen is just a whole different level! When you think about it, it’s hard to imagine how someone could pay back that amount, and it really makes you wonder how it could even be done.
Is Using the Statute of Limitations Really Possible?
That got me thinking, “Is there a way to avoid paying it back by using the statute of limitations?” Of course, I’m not an expert in legal matters, but the statute of limitations means that after a certain period, the debt disappears, right? However, with an amount like 2.5 billion yen, it seems like it would take quite a long time before the statute of limitations could apply. Reflecting on this, I’ve found myself thinking more about various things while raising my child. For instance, since my child was born, expenses have been piling up. Diapers, formula, and now an ever-growing collection of toys—before I know it, my wallet feels emptier… That feeling somewhat resonates with Mizuhara’s situation. Also, I’ve had moments where I overindulged in snacks with friends and ended up with a stomachache the next day. Life is filled with those “oops” moments. So, if Mizuhara really could utilize the statute of limitations, maybe he could navigate through his situation a little more easily while reflecting on those “oops” moments.
