While experienced players are indeed necessary for nurturing young talent, balancing the overall team dynamics may have made this decision unavoidable. Moreover, it was striking when the manager used the phrase “give and take.” This move could lead to future reinforcements and might serve as a strategic step in building a relationship with Orix.
Orix’s Aim and Expectations
On the other hand, I’m curious about Orix’s reasons for acquiring Iwasaki. They seem to have a limited number of middle relievers, so it makes sense that they would want to strengthen that area. It’s also noted that Iwasaki has returned from injury and thrown at 158 km/h, which reassures many that he can still perform at a high level. Although he may have passed his peak age, the desire to “blossom once more” is something that fans can appreciate. It’s likely that Orix’s management recognizes this potential.
