Mako-sama’s First Child: Gender Predictions and Royal Succession Insights

Question from a reader:
I heard that Mako-sama has given birth to her first child. What do you think the gender will be?

Thoughts on Mako-sama’s First Child and Gender

Recently, news broke that Mako-sama has welcomed her first child. Hearing this, I want to enjoy a light conversation while incorporating my perspective as a legal expert.

Boy or Girl?

Considering
the media’s relatively quiet response, I think the likelihood of it being a boy is high. It may be that they are deliberately holding back on the excitement because it complicates claims regarding the status of the husbands and children of female royals. If the first child is a boy, it will be interesting to see how things develop moving forward. However, if it turns out to be a girl, there might be pressure for the next child to be a boy. While working at a law firm, I often find myself pondering such topics. For instance, there was a day when I had lunch with a senior colleague, and we got into a lively discussion about “royal succession issues.” I tend to connect discussions back to my area of expertise. Interestingly, when my senior said, “If Mako-sama has a boy, the laws regarding succession might change,” I couldn’t help but laugh. Indeed, in the realm of law, “gender” can hold significant meaning.

Personal Thoughts

That being said, focusing too much on the child’s gender might be outdated. Regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl, the most important thing is that Mako-sama’s first child grows up healthy and happy. During my university years, I’ve had more opportunities to encounter various values. Particularly while studying psychology, I often reflect on human diversity. I hope for a new era that isn’t bound by gender or gender roles. As a side note, the other day at my part-time job, I overindulged in snacks and found it hard to concentrate on work. It was a small stress relief, but I definitely regretted it afterward. If any of you have thoughts or concerns, I would love for you to share them in the comments. I’d be happy to expand our conversation together.
