Reader’s Question:
I heard that the interactions with Masahiro Nakai were deleted. Is Nakajima P the superior of the victimized woman, or is he a subordinate of Masahiro Nakai?
Reflecting on Interactions with Masahiro Nakai
Recently, I came across the news that interactions between Masahiro Nakai and a certain woman were deleted. This brings up a lot of emotions when I
think about it. In particular, the position of Mr. A, who is the superior of the victimized woman, feels like a very complex situation.
The Relationship Between Nakai and Mr. A
It seems that Mr. A holds an important position in the announcer department at Fuji TV. The fact that he was always “bowing” to Nakai clearly illustrates the power dynamics at play. Despite being in a superior position, he could not refuse an invitation from Nakai, which, depending on how you see it, is a sad reality. I’ve also faced difficult choices in relationships with powerful individuals in the past. Especially when I first entered the workforce, I often found myself reading my boss’s mood. There were many moments when I realized that a boss I thought was so nice had another side to them. Even now, I think about what I could have done differently during those times.
Recognition of Power Harassment and Sexual Violence
The report from the third-party committee stating, “Due to the power dynamics at play, it has been recognized as sexual violence,” is extremely shocking. Behind the term “sexual violence,” which we often think about, lies a complex web of human relationships and psychology. Those in positions of power can unconsciously control others. Hearing such stories makes me realize how ignorant I have been. It prompts me to consider the difficulty of assessing the surrounding situation and how it can impact human relationships.
