Question from a reader:
What do you think will happen to Mr. Tachibana of the NHK Party in the future?
Thoughts on Mr. Tachibana’s Future
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about Mr. Takashi Tachibana. It’s understandable that opinions about his activities are divided. As a law student working part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, I often think about
laws and politics in society. Amid this, I contemplated Mr. Tachibana’s future from my perspective.
Expectations and Predictions
While Mr. Tachibana has many supporters, it’s also a fact that he has garnered opposition. If he succeeds in abolishing the NHK reception fee, he may gain support from the public. There’s even talk of a statue being erected in his honor posthumously, but is that path truly smooth? His activities come with risks, especially considering the scandals and incidents he has been involved in; it raises concerns about the future of his political endeavors. I know someone who passionately supports Mr. Tachibana. When we talk, he seems impressed by Mr. Tachibana’s sense of justice and proactive nature. However, there are many aspects of his words and actions that I can’t fully agree with. One day, when my friend was passionately stating, “Mr. Tachibana is truly acting for the people,” another friend calmly countered, “No, he’s just seeking self-assertion,” which I found quite amusing.
Hopes and Concerns for the Future
Personally, I hope Mr. Tachibana will gain various experiences and contribute to society. I feel a slight unease thinking he might follow a path similar to that of Asahara Shoko, but on the flip side, it’s crucial how he utilizes his influence. There are many voices expressing expectations for the role he can play in politics, but simultaneously, we need to carefully observe the outcomes of his actions. While working at the judicial scrivener’s office, discussions about law and politics often arise. One day, when a colleague and I talked about Mr. Tachibana, our opinions were sharply divided. While I acknowledge the validity of some of his claims, I question his methods. Such clashes of opinion are likely a part of democracy.
