Reader’s Question:
I saw the news that Arashi is ending their activities. Did Ohno-san not want to continue anymore?
Thoughts on Arashi’s Activity Cessation
Recently, I heard the news that Arashi will be ending their activities. It seems there are various factors behind whether Ohno-san wanted to continue. Particularly striking was their statement about how “the environment surrounding us has
changed, and each person’s situation has transformed.” Indeed, the issues surrounding Johnny-san have significantly impacted Johnny’s Entertainment, which must have had a profound effect on them.
Changes in Environment and Individual Responsibility
As someone who also works part-time at a judicial scrivener’s office, I feel daily how much work and interpersonal relationships are influenced by changes in the environment. I believe the members of Arashi were also experiencing shifts in their work situations and felt the difficulties in continuing their activities. Ohno-san’s desire for “freedom to live” is something that should be respected by the other members, reflecting a deep bond among them.
The Reality of Age and Physical Strength
From an age perspective, it’s understandable that members over 45 would find it physically challenging to sing and dance. I recently went to karaoke with friends and noticed that songs I used to sing effortlessly now leave me breathless more often. Growing older means accepting changes in our bodies. Shifting to a talk-centered style like enka singers might be one way to adapt.
Sharing Emotions
When I heard the news of Arashi’s disbandment, I felt a tightness in my chest. Their music and performances have been special to many people. We all have experienced our favorite artists taking breaks or disbanding, and thinking about that brings many emotional connections to mind. I would love to hear your thoughts on Arashi and other artists’ activities in the comments. Sharing our memories and feelings may provide us with some emotional support.
