There are mixed opinions about Myakumyaku, but what’s the actual popularity like? What do you all think? I personally like it, but it does feel a bit excessive.

Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about Myakumyaku. The design definitely divides opinions. When I first saw it, I thought, “Huh, what is this?” However,
seeing how much it’s being talked about suggests that it must be popular after all.
Personal Impressions
Honestly, I like Myakumyaku! Its uniqueness is something you can’t find elsewhere. However, I was a bit taken aback when my friends used the term “Ikisugii” while discussing it. If you’re using that phrase without knowing its origin, you might be seen as eccentric by those around you. I remember a time when a friend asked me, “What does that mean?” and I felt a bit embarrassed.
Interesting Episode
Recently, I went with a friend to check out Myakumyaku merchandise, and I was surprised by the variety available! I found myself saying, “They have this too!” I especially loved the Myakumyaku plush toys; I just had to pick one up. Perhaps it’s that creepiness that actually makes it endearing. It made me realize that such unique mascots are chosen because there’s a market for them at expos. While more conventional designs might appeal to some, I really admire the boldness in taking such risks.
