I was recently talking with a friend about how many people emphasize their position as fans. Is there a special reason for starting with “I’m a fan of ○○”? I, too, am a fan of a certain artist, and sometimes when I hear criticism about them, it makes my heart flutter uneasily. The other day, I went to a concert with a friend, and before it started, they said, “I’m a fan of this artist, but their recent album is a bit questionable.” I felt the same way, so I replied, “That’s true, but I still love them!” Once the concert began, all those doubts disappeared, and I was having so much fun—laughing, dancing, and feeling uplifted.
The Voice of Fans and Its Impact
