Reader’s Question:
I’ve heard that Ohtani is not doing well, and I’m worried. Is it true that he’s been receiving daily questions from the media regarding his child?
Ohtani’s Feelings as a Dad
Good evening! Recently, I’ve been a bit worried to hear that Ohtani is not in great shape. He is truly an amazing player, and as a fan, I
always support him. However, as a new dad myself, I can somewhat relate to his feelings.
Life with a First Child
I just recently welcomed my first child as well. It’s a challenge to wake up multiple times during the night, and during the day, I’m fully occupied taking care of the baby. I often put my own needs aside, and every day brings new discoveries. In this state, it’s difficult to concentrate on baseball games. I imagine Ohtani is also constantly thinking about his child and wife. Receiving a baby outfit and hat from the Cubs mascot before a game is such a cute surprise, but I can understand how the teasing from others might make it hard for him to focus (laughs).
Conflicts as a Dad
There are times when I think, “I need to get this done today,” but when I hear the baby crying, I can’t help but be distracted by that. Especially those moments when the child laughs or when I see their first smile are irreplaceable. I believe Ohtani is enjoying those moments as well.
Let’s Share Our Memories!
While I’m curious about baseball, family definitely comes first. I look forward to the day when Ohtani showcases his incredible skills again, but I also want to cheer for him as he enjoys his new life as a dad. If any of you readers have parenting struggles or joyful moments to share, please let me know in the comments! I’m sure we dads can relate to one another in many ways.
