Question from a reader:
Kawasaki Midori is quite a famous VTuber, isn’t she?
About Kawasaki Midori in the VTuber World
Recently, I was discussing VTubers with my friends, especially about Kawasaki Midori. He has actually become quite a topic of conversation, but his level of fame is a bit ambiguous. Although he has a large number of subscribers, the viewer count
isn’t that high, which piques curiosity.
Impressive Episodes
Speaking of him, when we were talking about him, my friend asked, “What is ‘babimiku’?” Explaining it was quite challenging, but essentially, it’s a style where men embody female characters. At first, I thought, “Why would anyone do that?” but as I watched his videos, I got drawn into that unique charm. Well, there are some moments that could be considered inappropriate, which explains the mixed opinions about him. Nevertheless, while his activities may seem flashy at first glance, the actual numbers might not be that impressive. He has a million subscribers, but only about 100 concurrent viewers—what’s going on there? It made me ponder.
My VTuber Experience
I’ve recently started watching VTubers more frequently, particularly those with strong comedic elements. Their humor and interactions are so entertaining, it feels like watching a stand-up comedy routine. It’s perfect for a little break during household chores. Just the other day, I watched a VTuber trying to cook, and I couldn’t help but laugh. He mixed up the ingredients and ended up with a completely different dish, saying, “This is a whole other recipe!” I think sharing those funny moments is the charm of VTubers. However, it’s a bit concerning as a viewer when the numbers don’t match up.
