Question from a Reader:
It seems that Hololive has been having members leave one after another. I’m concerned that by expelling members who don’t follow the agency’s directives, they might lose truly talented individuals. Could this lead to damages?
Considering the Graduations of Hololive Members
Recently, I’ve noticed an increasing number of news reports about Hololive members graduating. As a fan,
it’s concerning, and I’m curious about the agency’s circumstances. This time, I’d like to examine this issue from a legal perspective.
Talent is Capital, but Organizations Need Discipline
In the VTuber industry, the talent is indeed the capital. While the departure of popular members may lead to short-term losses, the agency has its operational policies in place. If they were to cater to every member’s requests, the organization’s functionality could collapse. For instance, if a member demands to “focus solely on streaming,” recognizing that request might lead other members to make similar demands. This could risk undermining the overall benefit. Through my part-time job at a judicial scrivener’s office, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of roles and discipline within an organization. At times, I want to respect my colleagues’ opinions, but there are moments when a decisive action must be taken for smooth operations. This principle also applies to the management of Hololive.
Underlying Reasons for Graduations
It’s intriguing that members consistently cite “differences in direction with the company” as their reason for leaving. While this may be the public reasoning, the actual situation is likely more complex. Particularly, voices calling for the freedom to decline corporate projects or events suggest that there may be issues with the company’s structure. This represents an unavoidable dilemma that comes with corporate growth. I’ve also experienced a time when I disagreed with my part-time job’s policies and felt a bit troubled. Ultimately, I resolved it by expressing my thoughts, but articulating one’s opinion within an organization is always a challenging task.
What Does the Future Hold for Hololive?
Nonetheless, Hololive’s popularity and recognition remain strong. New members are gradually joining, and there’s a possibility that things could return to their original state over time. I’m curious about how the management will navigate this situation and what future developments lie ahead. As fans, what we can do is support their activities while striving to understand their feelings about their work. I would certainly feel sad if one of my favorite members were to graduate. However, I want to respect their choices.
What Are Your Thoughts?
Finally, what do you think? I’d love to hear your opinions and thoughts on the graduations of Hololive members in the comments. By sharing our experiences and feelings, we might be able to delve deeper into this issue. Looking forward to your responses!
