Understanding Mental Health: The Impact of Stress and Support in Our Lives

Question from a reader:
After Hiromi was released, it seems there were no drug-related issues, but if someone can become strange in their natural state, does that ultimately mean they are a dangerous person?

Thoughts on Hiromi’s News

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the news regarding Hiromi’s release. It seems that after being freed from drug-related issues, nothing else came to
light. However, the idea that someone could act strangely without any external influence does suggest they might be a dangerous individual. It’s a bit frightening when you think about it.

Mental Health Issues Are Close to Home

I discussed this topic with friends, and we came to the realization that mental health issues are actually quite prevalent among people we know. I remembered moments when I felt overwhelmed by work stress, and I thought my mental state was on the verge of breaking. During those times, I managed to get through by laughing with friends at an izakaya, sharing silly moments that made us burst into laughter. It really drives home the importance of laughter. When that friend said, “Even celebrities like Hiromi can break down mentally,” I couldn’t help but agree. Considering what she has experienced in the entertainment industry, it must have been challenging for her to maintain her sanity. We all encounter stressors in our daily lives that can wear us down, so I can empathize with her feelings to some extent.

Aiming for a Society of Coexistence

I believe it’s crucial to think about how we can coexist with those who are struggling with mental health issues. Personally, I find solace in supporting one another, sometimes venting frustrations, and sharing laughter with those around me. The time spent with friends in our daily lives is truly invaluable. When I think about the hardships that celebrities like Hiromi endure under media scrutiny, it reminds me that we should perhaps view them with a bit more kindness. I believe that when issues arise, it’s essential to first listen and offer support.
