Recently, I was truly shocked to hear the news that Ryoko Hirosue was arrested.
I’ve known about her for a long time, and especially during my childhood, I saw her frequently on television; she was indeed a “star.” It’s hard to believe that something like this could happen.
My Feelings and Everyone’s Opinions
However, after seeing a certain comment, I was compelled to think a bit. There was an opinion that the expression “the biggest star after the war” is surprising. Indeed, while Hirosue was incredibly popular as an idol, when you say “the biggest” after the war, it brings to mind various other stars. Particularly in my generation, there are many big names like Seiko Matsuda and Akina Nakamori, among others. So, I felt that calling her “the biggest” might be a bit of an exaggeration. But perhaps my perception comes from the fact that I don’t know Hirosue during her peak. For her fans, she was undoubtedly a special presence.

Personally, I grew up watching Hirosue’s movies and dramas. In particular, “Shirasen Nagashi” is a work that evokes feelings of youth, and I remember getting excited with friends while watching scenes saying, “This part is the best!” Back then, I would see her smiling face in magazines, and it would make my heart race.
