Recently, I was chatting with friends after seeing the news about Ryoko Hirosue, and we had quite an interesting discussion. It was surprising to learn that she was driving herself. Typically, celebrities have their managers
handle the driving, so I was curious about why she took on that role.
Reasons for Driving Change
Upon looking into it, I found out that she was reportedly alternating driving with her manager, and it seems they chose not to take the Shinkansen due to financial issues. Still, it does seem a bit dangerous for a celebrity to be driving. If an accident were to happen, the compensation could be astronomical. I personally thought, “Considering those risks, it’s definitely safer to have the manager drive.”
My Own Driving Experiences
Speaking of driving, I often find myself behind the wheel, but sometimes I get a bit anxious and arrive too early. There have been times when I showed up at a café for a meet-up and ended up being the only one there, indulging in several desserts by myself. Thinking back on those moments, I wonder if Hirosue was also thinking, “I left a bit too early today” while driving. Nonetheless, driving can be enjoyable and a moment of freedom, so it might have been a nice time for her as well. Of course, safety is the top priority.
