I was very surprised to hear about the passing of Ishida Ayumi. When I think of her, many great songs and movies come to mind. I was particularly moved by her singing voice and acting. Do you all have any memories of Ishida-san or favorite works of hers?

Hearing about Ishida Ayumi’s
passing took me by surprise as well. Her presence was something special for those who love music and movies. In particular, “Blue Light Yokohama” is one of my favorite songs. Listening to her voice brings back a sense of nostalgia and warms my heart. I also love her early works, like “Sachio-kun.” There was an indescribable purity in her singing voice during that era. She truly was a symbol of youth. Additionally, in the “Kin-Suma” series, her portrayal of a heart-wrenching affair was striking. I was particularly amazed by the scene where she screams with a powerful voice; it was so real and intense, quite different from her usual image.
My “Encounter” with Ishida-san
Actually, the first time I learned about Ishida Ayumi was through an old movie I watched with a friend. At that moment, I became completely captivated by her charm. I still remember laughing and passionately discussing her acting and singing with my friend while we watched. There were times when we tried to mimic her songs, turning our gathering into something like a karaoke competition. Back then, we could enjoy ourselves without a worry in the world, and just thinking about those times brings a smile to my face. Even now, when I listen to her songs, the joyful atmosphere from that time comes rushing back.
